JAI LVAL Synchronous Mode With X64CLiPro in Overlap Mode

Question

How can I use a JAI cameralink camera in LVAL synchronous accumulation mode together with a X64CLiPro framegrabber?

Answer

In LVAL sychronous accumulation mode you can send a trigger impuls to the camera and start an acquisition while the previous frame is read out. In order to use this mode with a X64CLiPro respectively a X64CLExpress framegrabber you have to use the "Time Integration Method #7". This Method generates two consecutive trigger pulses to the camera and inbetween the first and the second a valid frame can be read out. With this method you can us any camera that supports this kind of Overlap Mode and obtain the full framerate even in triggered mode. Notice that in CamExpert when setting up method #7, "Exposure Time" does NOT stand for the exposure time when you want to use PWC. This is only controlled by the "Pulse Width" parameter. This method is available starting with Sapera LT 5.3.
