Lens group comprising aspherical lenses
An aspherical lens is a lens whose curved shape does not conform to the surface of a sphere as it does in a spherical lens. The use of aspherical lenses considerably improves the convergence of the light entering the lens with the result that the relative aperture of the lens can be increased by one or two stops. This in turn means that two to four times the quantity of light reaches the sensor.
Aspherical lenses also reduce geometrical aberrations such as lack of definition and distortion.
