Since its foundation in 1950, Tamron has been involved in the development of interchangeable lenses for SLR cameras. The experience gained from these products has had a beneficial effect on their manufacture of C-Mount and CS-Mount lenses for use in image processing applications.
Tamron´s expertise has its roots in the 35mm SLR photography optics. In 1957 the company presented the world´s first interchangeable lens system for SLR cameras. Tamron expanded beyond the conventional photography market and became a manufacturer of integrated opto-electronic products.
Due to its technological advantage and innovative production technology, Tamron has taken a leading role in the development of optical systems. In addition to its classic interchangeable camera lens system, Tamron develops and produces lenses for camcorders, digital cameras, CCTV lenses, ultra-high precision components for optical systems and accessories for electronic imaging.
Tamron's high resolution lens line-up is ideally suited to applications such as factory automation, machine vision, and other applications.
