VRmagic, founded in 2001 in Mannheim, Germany, developes, manufactures and distributes cameras and optical tracking systems for industrial and scientific imaging. Furthermore, VRmagic is a leading provider of virtual reality simulators for medical training worldwide.

In 2003 the first certified USB 2.0 camera was brought to the market. By now, VRmagic offers a wide range of USB components for industrial and non-​industrial image processing – from external analog-​to-digital converters through to FPGA components with integrated image processing and intelligent cameras that run on an autonomous Debian Linux operating system. With AreaScan3D VRmagic offers a 3D area sensor based on digital fringe projection that supplies ready-​calculated 3D data records for industrial image processing.

VRmagic offers cameras in housing and OEM variants – from sensor boards through to special designs such as mulit-​sensor cameras. The modules developed by VRmagic rank among the smallest cameras for Machine Vision. Development software for the integration and the programming of the components rounds up the offering.
